Independent Aging at Home: Part 1

As we celebrate Independence Day this July, let’s also celebrate the value of aging independently at home. With today’s technological advances, it has never been easier to bring healthcare to a patient’s home. This is particularly of value to aging patients who wish to remain independent for as long as possible. Aging independently means patients feel dignified, empowered and prepared to handle the many health-related aspects of aging. An independent patient is one who understands his or her disease or condition, and is an active participant in developing and meeting their healthcare goals.

Hospice Atlanta Volunteers Honor Fellow Veterans
Hospice Atlanta has been involved with the collaborative project We Honor Veterans since 2015, a partnership through the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Veterans Administration. Our charge is to determine if our hospice patients have military backgrounds, help our veteran patients navigate their eligible VA benefits, provide education for staff on veteran care, and offer the patient recognition for their service.

In honor of Nurses Day, Week, and Month, our Home Health Nurses celebrated last night with the "From Scrubs to Strikes: Nurses Night at the Lanes" themed Cinco de Mayo bowling night!
A great time was had by all with some good fun, lots of laughs, and some friendly competition on the lanes!
Great chance to step away from the road, connect as a team, and celebrate the incredible care our nurses deliver every day in homes across our community.
