Founded in 1948, Visiting Nurse Health System is Georgia’s solution for healthcare and aging at home, caring for over 15,000 patients each year throughout 57 counties. Celebrating 75 years as the first and largest nonprofit provider of healthcare, hospice and aging services in the home, Visiting Nurse continues to live its mission, today, by delivering a full care continuum of health care in the home. Our clinical team of nurses, therapists, social workers, home health aides, chaplains and volunteers deliver quality care, improving lives and positively impacting the well-being of our patients, families, caregivers and communities.

Mel Coker, now in her first term as Board Chair, came to our board through OnBoard and stepped into the chair role following Nicole Hart’s successful completion of her term. Each day our Community Care program case managers and nurses partner with care providers across Georgia to help nursing home-eligible seniors and vulnerable adults remain safe, independent, and supported at home.
