Patient Letters

Patient Letters

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and your entire organization for the great service that you provided and the professional way in which it was provided.

My mother was the recipient of your care for more than two years. The care and support that she and the entire family received over that long and difficult time were beyond anything that a reasonable person could hope for.

The real star of the operation was our home healthcare aide. She was always upbeat and cheerful, no matter what situation she walked in on. My mother looked forward to her daily visits with great anticipation. She always had something to discuss with Mother and always lifted her spirits. Seeing her every day for two years made her seem like a member of the family. She helped us through some very difficult and emotional times. She will always have a special place in our family.

The RNs were also considered extended family to us. Their explanations and patience with both my mother and with the rest of us were greatly appreciated and very helpful to our understanding of the situation. Whenever we called with questions or possibly needing an earlier visit than scheduled, they were each available to us without hesitation. They never made us feel that our questions or concerns were in any way trivial or silly.

All three of these ladies made us feel special and cared for. It is truly not possible to put into words what adifference each of them made in our lives over the past two years. Sharing such an emotional and difficult experience with such caring people definitely eased the burden. We still consider them family members and carry many memories of their kind acts and encouraging words. It takes a very special person to be able to do the type of work that is required on a daily basis from these women, and they all do it very well.

Although it has been almost two months since my mother’s death, I felt the need to express my heartfelt thanks and admiration for your mission, your organization and, especially, your personnel.

With much gratitude,

Paul D. Z.

I recently had partial knee replacement surgery at Northside Hospital. I am not going to say it was fun by any means, but the experience wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought. What happened next is what I would like to bring to your attention. I had been told of the Visiting Nurse rehab service, but I didn’t realize just how important it would be to my recovery.

I was absolutely blessed to have the Visiting Nurse team member assigned to me. He was a miracle worker! The first day we sat and talked about every aspect of my recovery, his plans for our sessions, the meds I was prescribed, your company and its services. He went through a booklet that explained so much. I was blown away!

From that very first session, I began to feel better.

He would start each visit with a quick interview about how I was doing, and then he would structure that session based on my progress. He worked me hard, which I really appreciated! He always left me with assignments for exercises to do, which I did faithfully because he said they would help me. And he was SO right! He is a very good man, SO kind to me and my family, so polished and professional. He is a great ambassador for your company and a fine healthcare professional. Thank you for sending him my way!

I am going back to work earlier than anyone expected and I give all the credit to the Visiting Nurse Health System.

Sincerely yours,

Dave N.

This is to share with you my appreciation for the outstanding care and service provided to my wife by one of your nurses. My wife has multiple sclerosis, and for almost ten years your nurse has attended to her medical needs on a monthly, and more recently, a semi-monthly basis.

She has not only been a professional, compassionate and caring nurse, but she has also become a friend to both of us. My wife always looked forward to her visits because they were just that – visits and not just examinations. She never rushed her visits and always took the time to chat with us, as friends do. She has always made herself available to us when we needed her in between scheduled appointments, and she often called just to see how things were going.

Sadly, my wife passed away in her sleep. When I called your nurse to share the sorrowful news, she was almost distraught as I, and she was the first person other than family members to come to help console me. To me, this is more than dedication to a job, but rather a true expression of love and compassion.

Since my wife’s passing, your nurse has visited me twice and she has helped me cope with my loss. She asked me for a photo of my wife to remember her by, and she asked permission to plant a shrub in our yard in her memory. Again, these are the actions and expressions that clearly go far beyond a simple nurse-patient relationship.

It has been a joy to know her and to have her help me with my wife’s care. She epitomized all the caring qualities that one would want and expect in a nurse.

Sincerely,

Eugene B. R.

Nurses deserves a little fun too! 💙

In honor of Nurses Day, Week, and Month, our Home Health Nurses celebrated last night with the "From Scrubs to Strikes: Nurses Night at the Lanes" themed Cinco de Mayo bowling night!

A great time was had by all with some good fun, lots of laughs, and some friendly competition on the lanes!

Great chance to step away from the road, connect as a team, and celebrate the incredible care our nurses deliver every day in homes across our community.

Grateful for this amazing Home Health team of nurses! Please know what you do matters, and it shows every single day.
