Vice President Joe Biden Speaks at Visiting Nurse’s 70th Anniversary Luncheon benefiting Hospice Atlanta

Vice President Joe Biden was the special guest speaker at Visiting Nurse Health System’s 2018 Spring Luncheon held Thursday, May 17, at The Whitley Hotel in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. More than 375 supporters, community members, partners and nursing professionals attended the event which raised funds for patients in the care of Hospice Atlanta.

Mr. Biden’s moving speech shared his personal story about the loss of life in his family and how hospice care was a comforting presence during those difficult days for him and his family members. He made special note to praise the work of Hospice Atlanta nurses, asking those RNs in the room to stand while he thanked them and recognized them for their dedication, adding, “You’re the most underrated profession in all the world.”
