David Martin, RN, Named New Board Chair for Visiting Nurse Health System

Two-Year Term to Oversee Nonprofit’s Home Healthcare and Hospice Delivery

Atlanta, January 3, 2017 – Visiting Nurse Health System, metro Atlanta’s leader in providing home healthcare, long-term care at home, and Hospice Atlanta’s end-of-life care services, announced the election of David A. Martin, RN, as board chair effective January 1, 2017. David has served on the Visiting Nurse board since 2011, including on their Strategic Planning, Professional Advisory, Advancement and Executive/Finance Committees.

David is the founder, president, and chief executive officer of comprehensive vein clinic VeinInnovations. Previously, David’s experience included positions in hospital intensive care units and emergency rooms, as a clinical first-assistant for cardiac and thoracic surgeons, and the founder of several other companies including a nonprofit tissue bank, a large first-assistant surgical practice, and a new medical device company. David received his nursing degree from DeKalb Community College (now Georgia State University) in 1980.
