We all have setbacks. Sometimes they’re due to illness or injury. It is the goal of Visiting Nurse Health System to help you get back to normal life as you know it, as efficiently and conveniently as possible. That’s why we offer such excellent at home Rehabilitation Services in Atlanta delivered by our highly-trained clinicians.
Visiting Nurse offers a wide range of effective rehabilitation protocols managed by some of the state’s top medical professionals. Our team includes nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists who know what it takes to get you back on your feet. Each clinician has had state-of-the-art training in their specialties, and arrive at your home with their tablet to serve. Visiting Nurse provides updated technology allowing our clinical team to track your progress, refer to summaries and get your attending physician the necessary information quickly, securely and accurately.
Our rehabilitation services focus on three areas of treatment, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, and, most often, follows these steps:
- An initial comprehensive assessment.
- The creation of a personalized exercise program.
- A home safety assessment.
- Recommendations for equipment or assistive devices.
- Administration of therapy.
Not only are our clinicians excellent and trained in their respective profession, they are compassionate, caring about you and your healthcare journey.
Physical Therapy Services treat:
- Decreased functional status
- Difficulty walking
- Fractures
- Osteoporosis
- Hip/knee/shoulder replacements
- Amputations

- Cardiac and pulmonary conditions

- Peripheral neuropathies
- Arthritis and degenerative joint disease
- Spinal cord injury
- Surgery

Occupational Therapy Services treat:
- Strokes
- Spinal cord injury
- Inability to perform activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, grooming and meal preparation
- Fine motor deficits
- Fractures and trauma
- Cardiac and pulmonary conditions
- Amputations
- Upper extremity trauma
- Arthritis and degenerative joint disease
Speech Therapy Services treat:
- Swallowing problems
- Head injury
- Speech and comprehension disorders
- Strokes, ALS, multiple sclerosis
- Parkinson’s
- Head/neck cancers
- Tracheotomy, laryngectomy

Our Visiting Nurse Health System and Hospice Atlanta Home Health and Hospice teams were proud to be part of the Aging Better Expo, hosted by our valued healthcare partner, Kaiser Permanente.
The event brought seniors and community partners together for a day focused on health, wellness, resources and connections that help older adults live and age well in their homes!

For the past five years, OnBoard has been an important pipeline for recruiting talented, committed leaders to the Visiting Nurse Health System | Hospice Atlanta Board of Directors. We’ve seen that impact firsthand.
