What is Private Home Care?

Private Home Care provides care that concentrates on activities of daily living that including live in senior care, personal care, household/chore services, and transportation. These are all things that allow us to remain independent and in our homes.

What’s the difference between home healthcare, hospice care and private home care?

Home Healthcare is quite like it sounds. It is medical attention provided by skilled professionals that takes place in the comfort and convenience of your own home. The care comes to you rather than you having to travel to a hospital or clinic. Home healthcare is coordinated by a licensed, qualified organization and may involve the services of nurses, therapists, clinicians and sometimes even social workers providing non-medical support. It is a service ordered by a physician for patients who may be recovering from a surgery, illness or injury or for those facing chronic illness.

Hospice care is a philosophy of high-quality, compassionate care for anyone of any age who has a life-limiting illness and does not want any more curative treatment. It provides dignity, choice and comfort so what remains of life can be lived to its fullest. Hospice care also provides a great deal of support for family members in the form of physical, emotional and spiritual assistance.

Private Home Care provides care that concentrates on activities of daily living that includes live in senior care, personal care, household/chore services, and transportation. These are all things that allow us to remain independent and in our homes.

Who would be a candidate for Private Home Care?

    • Care of the Elderly
    • Care of the Disabled
    • Care of Alzheimer’s clients
    • Care of post-surgical clients
    • Care of those with HIV/AIDS
    • Skilled Nursing of G-tube clients
    • Skilled Nursing for clients on ventilators

Anyone needing assistance with Activities of Daily Living (grooming, dressing, meal preparation, feeding, transportation, errands, light housework, and other daily tasks that allow one to remain independent at home).

What kind of health care services do you provide?

Private Home Care offers Skilled Nursing Services, Personal Care Services and Homemaker Services for you and your loved one.

How do I get your services?

Simply call (404) 658-5800. Our experienced Director of Nursing will provide a courtesy visit to the client and conduct a nursing assessment to determine a plan of care – personalized to the needs of the client.
The Director of Nursing will confer with client’s physician, pharmacist, and all others involved in the client’s care.
The Director of Nursing selects staff to serve the client based on education, experience, cultural interest, and understanding of the medical needs of the client.
The selected staff is given an orientation outlining the client’s needs and expectations. Additionally, the client has the option to interview the staff prior to the start of care.
On the first day of service, the Director of Nursing will place a courtesy all to obtain feedback on the caregiver’s performance, thus ensuring the client’s expectations are met. In addition, the Director of Nursing will conduct frequent telephone “check-in” calls as well as in home visits every couple of months.

How many visits will I get with Private Home Care Services?

Every client and their service needs are different. The amount of visits is determined by the care that is required for that specific client.

We’re proud to share our President and CEO, Dorothy Davis, joined other Georgia healthcare leaders this week in Washington DC, gathering April 9 for LeadingAge Lobby Day.
The team meet with both Republican and Democratic representatives to ensure healthcare and choice remain an option for seniors.
As Visiting Nurse began over 76 years ago, our mission is to improve the lives of those we serve, and we carried the voices of our patients and caregivers to the Georgia representatives.
We honor this dedicated team of healthcare leaders (Ginny Helms, Deke Cateau, Chris Keysor, Karon Nixon) committed to work in connection directly with local and federal policymakers, to continue helping to drive meaningful change and create a more equitable healthcare system for all. Thank you to these strong leaders, for their unwavering dedication and for being a voice for those who need it most.
