Executive Director, Community Care Division

As Executive Director, Laura’s primary responsibility is the execution of all operational and quality functions of the Community Care Division. These functions include all policy and procedural facets, staff development, and acting as a liaison with State and Regional contract holders. Additionally, Laura ensures the delivery of excellent case management services, contract compliance and quality outcomes for Georgia’s two Aged, Blind and Disabled Medicaid Waivers and two Older Americans Act funded county programs.

Prior to joining Visiting Nurse in 2010, Laura was the State Director of Georgia’s Aging and Disability Resource Connection. She had the responsibility of statewide program design, policy development and implementation, data collection, quality assurance, contract management and ongoing expansion of the ADRC.

Early in her career, Laura was a consultant for Mentor Clinical Care where she led the development and oversight of a residential program that provided therapeutic foster care to Georgia adults and children with developmental disabilities and medically fragile conditions. She later became a Clinical Coordinator with responsibility for the management and delivery of clinical and case management services to at-risk adults and children with developmental disabilities. In 1995 Laura began serving as the Program Director at Parent to Parent of Georgia, a statewide non-profit program for families caring for an individual with a disability or chronic illness. She later served as the Aging and Disability Project Manager at the Atlanta Regional Commission where she led a federally funded grant project to expand access to services for the elderly and individuals with disabilities.

Laura has been dedicated to serving individuals and their families in community settings for over 30 years. Upon completion of her Bachelor of Science in Education from Brenau University, she attended graduate school at Georgia State University.
