2016 Fall Event
Why Support Our Fall Event?
This annual benefit—A Celebration of Life—supports hospice patients and their families who receive care at home, at the Andrew and Eula Carlos Hospice Atlanta Center and through our hospital partners. Each year, Visiting Nurse Health System / Hospice Atlanta provides more than $1 million in uncompensated care for hospice patients and their families during this difficult time in their lives. We recognize and thank individual and corporate sponsors who partner with us to deliver over $1 million in uncompensated care for hospice patients and their families during this difficult time in their lives regardless of their financial circumstances.
2016 Fall Gala recap
Energy and compassion filled the air in the Stave Room at American Spirit Works as more than 300 attendees passionately supported the work of Hospice Atlanta. The event raised more than $365,000 and honored the vision and dedication of the four founders of Hospice Atlanta Center and their families: Mary Gellerstedt, Warren Jobe, the late Dr. Arthur Booth and the late Eula Carlos.
Emceed by WABE radio host Amy Kiley, the celebration included a touching video that visually connected the founders’ original vision for Atlanta’s first hospice facility 20 years ago with the present-day crown jewel that the Center has become for Visiting Nurse. Moved to give the founders a standing ovation, generous donors then participated in a spirited live auction to demonstrate their support and appreciation for the care given to those facing end-of-life, regardless of their financial situation.
