Paul D. Thodeson, CPA
Paul Thodeson is a retired senior partner in the Atlanta office of Ernst & Young, having served clients for over 30 years in Cleveland, Winston-Salem, Tokyo, and Atlanta. His client experience included coordinating engagement services for a number of Atlanta area organizations, including Equifax, King & Spalding, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., and YKK. For over ten years, Paul served as a national director of the firm’s Japan business services and led the southeast area’s Japanese business initiatives.
Paul’s non-profit experience has involved engagements or board positions with the Atlanta Opera, the Fox Theatre, the Japan America Society of Georgia, Georgia Shakespeare, Nishimachi International School, Piedmont Opera Theatre, the Robert Woodruff Arts Center, the Cleveland Institute of Music and the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta.
Paul has significant project management experience in coordinating services for large and complex organizations. Paul’s expertise includes financial statement auditing, consultations regarding the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, periodic filings, SEC registration statements, and technical consultations. He also has significant experience in coordinating services related to major transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, exchange offers, secondary offerings and debt offerings.
Paul is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Paul has his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and Master of Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University. Paul lives in Atlanta with his wife Kathryn and they have two grown sons; Reed who works in Atlanta and lives in Decatur and Drew who is in his third year of residency in Pittsburgh to be a pediatric neurologist.
