Charlotte Weaver is a visionary senior executive with 25+ years of experience in nursing informatics, patient safety and quality, evidence-based nursing practices and healthcare automation in acute, ambulatory and post-acute care. She created a breakthrough in the nursing educational curricula by introducing learning using an electronic health record in virtual environments and pioneered the Chief Nurse Officer role. She also has board experience in the public/non-profit sectors, as well as 15+ years of experience at the chief executive level in the corporate HIT industry and healthcare delivery organizations, with Board-reporting responsibilities.
As Senior VP, Chief Clinical Officer at Gentiva Health Services, she oversaw clinical-care delivery and quality and regulatory compliance of Home Health and Hospice Programs operating in 42 states. Previously at Cerner Corporation, Ms. Weaver was Chief Nurse Officer and VP of Patient Care Systems, overseeing the product suite making up the hospital EHR modules with full P/L responsibilities.
Ms. Weaver serves on a number of academic, healthcare organizations and for-profit, healthcare technology company Boards. She is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences, and has published extensively as a writer and editor.
She has a PHD in Medical Anthropology from the University of California, an MSPH in Epidemiology and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Washington, and a Nursing diploma from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing. She was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Hawaii. She was also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Kansas, School of Nursing, where she helped create a transformative curriculum by introducing Cerner’s EHR into classroom and virtual environments.
